Gucci Dresses -Gucci definitely held sway over the fashion segment of Cannes this year – with Creative Director Frida Giannini hosting a party with Vanity Fair for Martin Scorsese, and so many celebs wearing Gucci metallic mini’s – and gowns from their new Gucci Premiere’ couture evening line. But no dress was as breathtaking as this pale pink one on Salma Hayek, when she presented the “Grand Prix” award on Canne’s closing night. It’s an antique pink silk georgette Gucci Première strapless gown with pale gold beaded cluster detail in the front and around the waist, an antique pink satin clutch with gold frame and Gucci High Jewelry’s pink gold horsebit cocktail ring, with brown round cut diamonds. How did the actress score such a gorgeous and flattering dress with matching amazing accessories? No doubt, it was made just for her, and planned just for this event – as her husband, Monsieur Pinault, runs Gucci Group and we could now refer to Salma as “Madame Gucci.” She is obviously the brand’s most glamourous ambassador. Javier Bardem, who won the Palme D’Or Best Actor award for his role in the Mexican film “Biutiful,” wore a Gucci Made to Order midnight blue peak lapel one button tuxedo with white dress shirt, a navy blue silk tie and black patent lace up loafers to the Closing Ceremony during the 63rd Annual Cannes Film Festival.
A fun note – Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz are best friends, so we have a feeling it was Salma who coaxed Javier – Penelope’s main man -into his Gucci. No matter, he looks amazing. So that’s it for the Cannes wrap up – it’s all over from the South of France, and now we have to wait for the Emmy’s to see gowns this good again – but what could ever be THIS good? Gucci Dresses
