Sara Paxton bares her pretty feet for the Boost Mobile Project Beach House photo shoot. Sara has been acting since she was six years old; she auditioned for the role of Lizzy McGuire, which went to Hilary Duff, and later guest starred on that show. Paxton appeared in other teen-based shows and movies and even composed her debut music CD, The Ups and Downs, which may be released in the future. But Sara has released singles like "Here We Go Again", "Temporary", and "Kiss Me Like You Mean It", all of which are available on iTunes.
 
Sara Paxton also recorded songs for her TV show Darcy's Wild Life and for the hit movie Aquamarine, where she plays a mermaid who befriends two boy-crazy girls played by JoJo and Emma Roberts. Apart from her sweet roles, Sara Paxton has played mean or troubled girls in Summerland, The Party Never Stops, and Sydney White with Amanda Bynes. Sara was in the horror flick The Last House on the Left this year, and she will be seen next in the TV show A Beautiful Life with Mischa Barton.

And they had to put the tail on me. It was really, really fun." Sara Paxton told Teen Magazine: "People would be surprised to know that I've gone to regular school my whole life and I don't have one friend who is an actor! Actually, I'm really close with my friend Emma Roberts, who I did Aquamarine with, but she’s my neighbor -- so that's why! But besides Emma I don't have friends who are actors. I'm also half Mexican."

Paxton enjoys playing video games and riding bikes but says she's too uncoordinated for sport. Sara still lives with her parents in Woodland Hills, where her Mexican mom is a dentist, and her father is a businessman. On her Mexican heritage Paxton says, "You've seen 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding?' Well, my whole life is like 'My Big Fat Mexican Wedding,' where one side of the family is huge and loves to party, and the other side is very quiet and conservative."  Sara says that her family has given her good moral values, which is why she doesn't get into trouble: "I don't even go to clubs. My family is a really strong influential force in my life and I think it's really important that people stay grounded with their family and friends." Paxton didn't even have a boyfriend till she was 16 and her father still accompanies her to movie and TV shoots: "As I get older....I want to do more stuff by myself and go with my friends more. It's difficult for parents to let go, I guess, especially since I'm the only child, and a girl." Betsey Johnson has been designing clothes for over 40 years, yet her ability to appeal to her audience has never wavered. This knowledge of her customers and eye for what they want is part of what keeps us buying her clothes year after year. She has made great contributions to the fashion industry and is undeniably a designer worth knowing.




Betsey Johnson was born in Wethersfield, Connecticut in 1942, where she spent most of her youth in dance classes. Betsey did not dream of becoming a fashion designer; instead, she aspired to be a dancer. Eventually, however, her love of art, design, and unique costuming led her in a different direction.
Her Breakthrough

After graduating from Syracuse University, Betsey took the New York fashion world by storm. In 1964, Betsey entered the industry when she landed a guest editor position at Mademoiselle, a “young women’s fashion and lifestyle magazine.” A year later, she became a designer for a clothing boutique called Paraphernalia.


During her early years in NYC, Betsey was heavily involved in the underground scene, along with Andy Warhol and The Velvet Underground. She worked with Edie Sedgwick and even designed the costumes Edie wore in her last film, Ciao! Manhattan.
Her Own Label and Stores


After more than 10 years of designing for other labels, in 1978, Betsey decided to take a more hands-on approach and start a label of her own. Thus, the Betsey Johnson label (yes, the one we’re so familiar with now), was born. Being in full control of her own label allowed her to self express her creative ideas through her perfectly executed designs.

With the creation of her namesake label came a slew of Betsey Johnson retail stores. Her first store, in NYC’s Soho neighborhood, was quickly joined by sister stores in Los Angeles and other US cities. Her stores quickly became popular shopping destinations; customers could not get enough of her unique, whimsical, impeccable fashions.

Today there are over 65 Betsey Johnson stores worldwide, in every city from London to Japan. Betsey’s line has also expanded to include many new categories of merchandise, including:

    * Eyewear

In addition, Betsey, a breast cancer survivor, is very active in the fight against the disease; she has made countless appearances at different events around the nation to raise awareness and money for the cure. She even became an honorary chairperson for the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer initiative. Aside from her contributions to the fashion world, Betsey has made a difference in countless lives through her charitable efforts against breast cancer.
